1. Volatile matter

Because coal is burning. Volatile matter is first precipitated, and heat is released after combustion, which promotes the combustion of carbon particles, which is beneficial to increase the combustion speed and complete combustion of pulverized coal. Therefore, the volatile matter of coal is generally required to be greater than 15%; on the other hand, when the volatile matter content is too high , It will affect the operational safety of the pulverized coal preparation system. Therefore, the volatile content of coal is generally required to be less than 25%.

2. Ash

Generally, it is required that the ash content of coal powder is less than 10%, and the melting point of the ash content is greater than 1250°C.

3. Moisture

Different coal mills have different requirements for the moisture of the raw coal. The steel ball mill requires that the moisture of the raw coal does not exceed 12%, and the suspension roller mill requires that the moisture of the raw coal does not exceed 8%. In the above case, the drying of the raw coal can be carried out at the same time as the grinding. When the moisture exceeds the above-mentioned specified value, an additional dryer is required to pre-dry it.

4. Sulfur

When roasting lime, part of sulfur in coal is transferred to lime, and the sulfur in coal is large, which will definitely increase the content of sulfur in lime. Since metallurgical lime must be low sulfur lime, roasting lime must use low sulfur coal. Generally, the sulfur content of coal is required to be less than 0.8%.

5. grindability

The grindability of coal refers to the degree of difficulty of making coal powder from coal grinding, which is expressed by the grindability coefficient. The grindability coefficient refers to the ratio of energy consumed when the standard coal with the same granularity is made into the same fineness with the measured coal mill under laboratory conditions. The larger the grindability coefficient is, the easier it is to grind the coal. The grindability coefficient of bituminous coal is about 1.2~1.4, and that of anthracite is about 0.8~1.1.

6. The fluidity of pulverized coal

Pulverized coal can absorb a large amount of air. It combines with air to form a mixture, which has the same property as fluid. Therefore, wind power is often used to transport along pipelines.

The fineness of pulverized coal is generally obtained by screening and expressed by the remaining amount on the sieve. According to experience, the fineness of bituminous coal is generally 10 ~ 20%, and that of anthracite is 5 ~ 10%.

Pulverized coal and air mixture will explode under certain conditions. Production practice and experimental research prove that the main factors affecting pulverized coal explosion are:

8.2 The fineness of pulverized coal is about fine, and the larger the contact surface with air is, the greater the explosion is;

8.3 The explosion of pulverized coal increases with the increase of its concentration in the air, but when the concentration increases to a certain limit, the explosion begins to decrease again, the explosion range of pulverized coal concentration is 0.3~0.6kg/m³;

8.5 Mixture temperature the higher the pulverized coal air mixture temperature is, the greater the possibility of explosion is;

8.6 Sulfur fraction experiment proves that the existence of sulfur in coal does not affect the Explosibility of pulverized coal, but when the content of FeS in pulverized coal is high, pulverized coal is easy to naturally become the source of explosion.
